Constellation Network, a U.S. Department of Defense-endorsed distributed infrastructure company, today announced the launch of Digital Evidence - an anti-tampering product specifically designed for emergency services and law enforcement.
After six years of working with the Department of Defense and developing the Iron SPIDR project, which demonstrated the value of securing mission-critical communications, Constellation is introducing this blockchain product for commercialization under the name Digital Evidence.
In the public sector, more than $3.6 billion is spent annually on compliance protection activities. Digital Evidence uses blockchain technology to create and secure critical data, ensuring trust and integrity for legal and compliance purposes. Organizations can save time and money in legal, compliance, or regulatory evidence collection by securely and immutably storing data and automatically generating evidence reports.
Digital Evidence continuously collects data from vehicles such as police cars, fire trucks, EMS vehicles, and other in-vehicle systems, creating immutable records that are easily accessible for legal purposes. Through its partnership with Panasonic and TOUGHBOOK, announced in October 2024, Constellation is rapidly deploying Digital Evidence to its customers where the technology is already in place.
Digital Evidence is used in a variety of test cases such as Panasonic Toughbooks, AI datasets, retail analytics via Dor Technologies, and evidence collection in intellectual property protection, system performance, cost efficiency, and operational reporting.
Aidan Clifford, Director of Market Solutions Group at Panasonic Toughbook, said: “Panasonic is excited to explore with Constellation new markets where Digital Evidence will bring cost efficiencies and improved workflows for our customers.”
Ben Jorgensen, CEO of Constellation, said: “There is a great urgency from both the private and public sectors to increase transparency across technologies, organizations and agencies. Through Digital Evidence, blockchain technology can be easily integrated to serve the public good. This is one of the first products that will immediately address compliance issues, while reducing the burden of accurate reporting.”
Any organization that uses Digital Evidence will be awarded a “Smart Checkmark” certification for its technology, instilling consumer confidence in its data collection and auditing processes. Constellation is developing integrations between Digital Evidence and existing databases, business intelligence tools, indexing solutions, and artificial intelligence platforms.
