Solana FishFin Token Surges 3,800% After Being Featured in 'Aqua World' Game Story

"Never trust a fish with your financial decisions," jokes an Aqua World video - but the story has helped pump up the price of a Solana meme coin inspired by the game.

Aqua World, a colorful marine adventure RPG, is attracting attention not only for its engaging gameplay but also for its unofficial tie-in with a cryptocurrency meme coin, FishFin (FF). Inspired by the fictional character in the game, FF's price skyrocketed within minutes of the game's latest storyline hitting social media over the weekend.

FishFin, an unofficial Solana token, exploded from a market cap of just $85,000 to a short-lived peak of $3.26 million on Sunday — a price of $0.00326 per token, a jump of more than 3,800% in a short period of time.

FishFin’s price quickly fell after whale investors cashed in on the sudden surge, falling to around $0.00068, with a market cap of around $680,000. That said, FishFin’s price is still well above where it was at the start of last week.

FishFin was created by an unknown group after Aqua World’s current season of content, “Deep Dive,” debuted featuring Finny Fish, a money-loving fish who specializes in swindling cryptocurrencies.

Why the sudden price spike?
Although FishFin is not the official token of Aqua World or the official developer of the game, the price of this token has skyrocketed due to the strong media push from the game development team.

Over the weekend, the official social media accounts of Aqua World shared a humorous video with the message that Finny Fish is being investigated for being involved in a "rug pull" in the cryptocurrency world, highlighting how players can collect and spend FishFin in black markets on the game map.

This is an interesting reflection on the use of cryptocurrencies in underground markets, similar to the history of Bitcoin's use on platforms like Silk Road.

In the video, Finny Fish is accused of "scamming players by releasing a meme coin called FishFin." The host warns, "Never trust these coins. Don't take financial advice from fish!"

Aqua World has millions of followers on TikTok and Instagram, where the video quickly went viral and captured the attention of the crypto gaming community.

"Aqua World is making the crypto market more interesting," Jonah Blake, founder of Game Fund Partners, wrote on social media X. "The story of the game has really created a surprise effect!"
