ZKcandy – an Ethereum scaling layer-2 network with a focus on mobile gaming – announced its mainnet launch this Tuesday, marking a dramatic departure from its impressive testing phase.
Co-founded by iCandy Interactive, a prominent Southeast Asian game developer, and Matter Labs – the team behind the ZKsync scaling technology, ZKcandy aims to build a unique mobile-friendly AI-powered Web3 gaming ecosystem. During the testnet phase, the network recorded over 2.46 million wallets created, a significant number reflecting strong interest from the user community.
After a $4 million seed round led by Wemix and Animoca Ventures in January, ZKcandy officially entered the game with 8 games that can be played right from launch, including: Pepe Kingdom, Sugar Rush, Candy Defense and many other games that promise to create a buzz in the Web3 community.
“We are proud to bring ZKcandy to global users. The success of the testnet is just the beginning. With new capital and powerful ZKsync technology, we will continue to expand the network, inviting major IPs and AAA quality mobile games to join the ecosystem,” – shared Kin Wai Lau, CEO of ZKcandy.
Not only focusing on attracting players, ZKcandy also implements a long-term strategy to promote community and ecosystem development. Specifically, 5% of the native token supply will be allocated to promotional campaigns. At the same time, a funding program for Web3 game developers will be launched in the near future.
ZKcandy is also part of Elastic Chain, a network of compatible and interoperable layer-2s on ZKsync, alongside names like Abstract and Cronos. Connecting these networks will open up many opportunities for cooperation and cross-chain asset exchange in the future.
With the combination of ZK-Rollups technology, AI in gameplay, and well-invested by big players in the Web3 industry, ZKcandy is betting big on the future of blockchain gaming – where players not only have fun but also actually own their digital assets.
